In order to change the registrant (ownership) of a .ie domain name, the following documentation is required:

  1. A signed* letter (on headed paper where applicable) from the current registrant authorising the change of registrant for the domain. The letter should also confirm the new registrant details.
  2. A signed** letter (on headed paper where applicable) from the new registrant confirming that they wish to take over the domain. The letter should also confirm the name and contact details of the new admin contact for the domain (a valid email address must also be provided).
  3. For the new registrant, the change is treated like a new registration and therefore they may have to supply supporting information to complete the change (such as trading proof and a claim to the domain). For all .ie registrant changes a fee of EUR 25 + vat applies (payable in advance).
